A similar post was made some years ago regarding Windows 8 compatibility with PB10. Bottom line is you need to test, test, and re-test your applications. Migration from PB 10 to PB 12.6 shouldn't pose any major problems but again, it depends upon your applications. According to the latest SAP documentation, not even PB 12.6 supported Windows 10. It only went as far as Windows 8.1. PB 2017 is the way to go if you want piece of mind about compatibility and to be on a supported version of PowerBuilder. In addition to Windows 10 support, by upgrading you get the following additional features: https://www.
- Welcome to Microsoft Support What do you need help with? Can't find Office applications in Windows 10, Windows 8, or Windows 7?
- TX Text Control - We’ve incorporated back the very same OEM implementation and version of the TX Text Control that was incorporated in PowerBuilder 12.6. New Windows 10 style icons and small pictures - A set of Windows 10 style icons are provided for selection under the 'icons' list and the 'small pictures' list in the Property tab for controls.
- I had the installation issue with PowerBuilder 12.6 on an DELL Lattitude i5-6300U with Windows 10 Pro (64Bit, 16GB RAM). This device had a multitouch display (10 touchpoints). I got only the splash screen even installing and running PB126.exe as administrator. I had had to kill the TabTip.exe Process. When Killing TabTip.exe the TabTip32.exe.
Hi everyone,
I too had this SAME problem with Windows 10 (64bit). I was using an OLD (Windows XP MIDI Program called 'PowerTracks Pro Audio') and tried to use it's 'HELP' file. That's where the problem started. I found a LINK (DUMMY ME ERASED IT - OR ELSE I'D POST IT HERE) for a ZIP File called 'winhlp32-windows-7-x86-x64-komeil.cab' (you might try Googling it) that contains 3 files. They are called:
1. Install.cmd
2. winhlp32.exe (Win 7 Version)
3. winhlp32.exe.mui (Win 7 Version)
There are 4 lines of text that MUST BE INSERTED into the 'Install.cmd' file (which I will list below). THIS FILE NEEDS TO BE RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR IN ORDER TO WORK!!! Once the program has run it should fix your problem with the HELP FILES! Here is a listing of the ACTUAL 'Install.cmd' file: Under the SETTINGS you should see the following (IF NOT, CHANGE THIS TO THE LINES BELOW): Descarca filme torrent.
set MuiFileName=winhlp32.exe.mui
Powerbuilder Windows 10 Support End
set ExeFileName=winhlp32.exe
set WindowsVersion=7
goto :BypassVersionError
Antivirus and antispyware software. HOPE THIS HELPS!!!
Joe S.
P.S. I just tried the GOOGLE SEARCH for the filename 'winhlp32-windows-7-x86-x64-komeil.cab' and it worked.
Here is the link I erased (like a dummy):
Now just go there and download the file for yourself and run it.. Take care..

Does any one know if PB 10 compiled applications will be compatible to run on Windows 10? Or any known issues migrating PB10 source to the newest version to run on Windows 10?

Bottom line is you need to test, test, and re-test your applications. Migration from PB 10 to PB 12.6 shouldn't pose any major problems but again, it depends upon your applications. If they use Windows API calls or external ActiveX type controls you may encounter issues. SAP deprecated a few things in 12.6 but nothing major (unless you are using them of course).

We have an ERP programmed in PB 12.5.2 Classic (started from 7 and been migrated all along) - and it works fine. We supplement the UI with custom built COM components (.NET 4.5) and everything works as expected in both Win 7 & Win 10 (notebooks, desktops & tablets).

As far as I know there's no official support for windows 10. PB 12.5 supports Windows 7.PB 12.6 supports Windows 8.And Appeopn PB 2017 will support Windows 10.

I also use powerbuilder on various machines and see no problem with Windows 10. I even let the executable run on a linux ubuntu machines. No problem reported so far.
